Staged to Sell in a Difficult Market

Selling your home in a difficult market requires that you do everything you can to ensure the home and the property shows well. Buyers have the pick of the crop, so make sure yours in at the top of the list.

This home is owned by a family with two small children. Many personal items and bins of toys were moved into storage in order for buyers to really see the spaciousness in this 1500 square-foot property. The house sits on a very large lot in a semi-rural setting with a large front and backyard.

The red chairs in the family room were situated in front of the only window and reoriented to face the fireplace to make that space feel cozier. The living-room had a large 7' sofa blocking the window views to the backyard. That piece was removed and the remaining pieces were moved away from the walls to make the space appear larger.

A deep cleaning was done throughout to give this home that sparkle. The children's closets were cleared out and all linens, area rugs and shower curtains were cleaned or replaced. This home now shows its "bones" and the spaciousness that works for the new buyers.
